We’re All In This Together

We remain committed to following the guidelines and practice set forth by the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors and British Columbia College of Social Workers as it pertains to OVCS, our work environment and how we may continue to serve our clients. In response to the pandemic the College and the Association, and Ministry of Health, Dr. Bonnie Henry, Provincial Health Officer directives, we have been mandated to participate in social distancing and isolation and have done so by limiting the number of face-to-face counselling sessions.

Our professional, clinical counsellors, and social workers are sensitive and know that during times of crisis (pandemic related or not) that this can challenge the way people feel, think and act. There are many things that can trigger various feelings such as sadness, anxiety, stress, depression and fear. We want you to be aware that we will be there for you during this difficult time and walk along side you when you need us. Your health and well-being matter to us so in an effort to keep you safe we will continue to provide online and telephone counselling sessions.

The decision to provide online and telephone counselling sessions was an easy one when considering the risks but we understand that it’s not ideal for some people. We want to continue to support our new and old clients even while not knowing what life will bring with this pandemic but working to do our part in slowing the spread of the virus.

While we do not know how long this situation will last, OVCS would like you to know that we are still here for you. Even though our offices have changed our protocol, we will still be accessible to you. Now offering in-person, telephone and online counselling services in Kelowna and West Kelowna.

Our Hours

We have reduced hours of operation during this time but will do what we can to work with scheduling appointments that work for both you the client and the counsellor.

Our offices are both open right now, if you leave us a message we will get back to you as soon as we can. Please ensure you bring a MASK and do the mandatory Covid-19 screening online prior to coming into your session. If you have not completed this screening assessment you may be denied an appointment till it’s completed. We thank you in advance for your compliance and patience with all these new regulations and safety protocol.

The online software that we use for providing telehealth sessions is secure and will not store your personal information.

You will require a laptop or desktop with webcam to access your sessions or a phone for telephone sessions. If you do not have access to a laptop or desktop, please let us know in advance of your appointment. We may suggest doing a telephone counselling session instead.

If you currently have an upcoming session booked, you should have received a Client Contact form and Informed Consent form from your counsellor. Please complete these forms prior to your next scheduled session. Should you have any questions, please contact us.
